How XGL Works

Xgl, Xegl, Xglx, Aiglx... ever wondered what all this stuff does? Here's the definitive guide to understanding how this stuff actually works. Scroll to the end for some illustrative diagrams.  It is heavily simplified for the layman, but even then, it can get a bit complicated for those of you who arent computer power-users.    Its a neat read though,  if you are interested in what  XGL/ Compiz can do,  and WHY it can do what it does.    Feel free to check it out!
